Downtown in Business will be hosting a comprehensive range of events and activities at the international property festival MIPIM in Cannes next year.
DIB have teamed up with Marketing Manchester, Newcastle, and the West Midlands for the festival, which takes place March 9th-13th 2026.
Downtown boss Frank McKenna said:
“We have confirmed our arrangements to collaborate with our public sector partners in Manchester, Newcastle, and the West Midlands, and I am sure we will be adding to that list of cities and regions in the coming weeks.
“The great thing about working with DIB at MIPIM is not simply the opportunity you have to connect with the leaders who matter during the festival – but the work we do before and after MIPIM to ensure that DIB partners get maximum value from their investment.
“We don’t offer a place on a panel that half a dozen people may listen to – but we do provide a first class events programme, and quality introductions – plus great social media coverage.”
Confirmed speakers for DIB events so far include the leader of Liverpool City Council Cllr Liam Robinson, the chief executive of Manchester City Council Tom Stannard, the leader of Blackpool Council, Cllr Lynn Williams, the chief executive of Newcastle City Council, Pam Smith, the chief executive of Salford City Council, Stephen Young, and Salford City mayor Paul Dennett.
DIB will also be working alongside a range of private sector partners at MIPIM ’26, including the Liverpool BID Company, Laing O’Rourke, Nugent, Sutcliffe, and Steven Hunt Associates.
