Central Birmingham’s leading independent fine art gallery will enter its second decade with a new name.
Reuben Colley Fine Art was founded by award-winning artist Reuben Colley in 2010. Having traded in Moseley for five years, the gallery moved in 2015 to a prestigious location on Colmore Row, in one of Birmingham’s fine Victorian buildings. In 2020, while successfully weathering the disruption caused by the pandemic, the business celebrated its 10th anniversary. This milestone prompted a review of the past ten years, and provided the opportunity to rebrand.
Now known as the Colley Ison Gallery, the business looks set to go from strength to strength. While retaining the name of the gallery’s founder and Director, Reuben Colley, the new name also makes reference to the Gallery Director, Timothy Ison, who has fronted the business since its inception. By adopting the word ‘Gallery’ in its title, the business announces itself as a space where anyone can visit and enjoy great art free of charge, whether or not they intend to buy.
Colley Ison Gallery will continue to represent a hand-picked range of living artists, while also sourcing works of art by some of the world’s most renowned artists for collectors and investors. A varied programme of exhibitions is already in place for 2022. Timothy Ison says: ‘I’m incredibly proud to have been associated with the growth of Reuben Colley Fine Art from its small beginnings in Moseley to one of Birmingham’s most significant independents. We will continue to advise clients on building collections for their homes and also for investment, and I look forward to introducing new members of the team to the re-branded Colley Ison Gallery over the next 12 months.’
