Majority black-owned brand FYC wins best new textured product at the prestigious Pur Beauty Awards

FYC – sponsorship partner of The Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards – has won a prestigious beauty award just one year since the product range launched.

FYC is a hair product range created especially for mixed-textured curls. The brand was launched in 2020 by co-founder entrepreneurs Robert Binns and Bradley Lincoln, when they came across issues finding suitable products for their mixed-race offspring.

The Pure Beauty Awards are the biggest and most recognised awards in the beauty industry. Brands are first shortlisted by a team of experts, and then the public vote for the eventual winners.

FYC was shortlisted with two products in the Best New Textured Hair Product category – FYC Leave In Conditioner was awarded Bronze, while the Refresh & Detangle Spray was crowned the winner with the Gold award.

FYC co-founder Robert Binns commented, “The curly hair market is growing very fast. Go down any hair aisle in the country and you’ll now see a dedicated curl section. This wasn’t the case 5 or 10 years ago. It’s a really competitive space, so for industry experts and our customers to rank our products so highly is a real achievement.”

Lincoln commented, “We are so proud of what we’ve created with FYC. The range was developed with a specific need and a specific customer in mind. We work really hard to get the product right, so for industry experts to acknowledge us, and then consumers themselves to vote, is truly mind-blowing.” FYC products are especially for Afro-European mixed textured curls, are easy-to-use, and accessibly-priced from £4.99 to £7.99. The range is fully made in Britain with naturally derived ingredients. The range is available now from foryourcurls.com and Amazon.
