B&M Waste Services achieves double nomination at GBCC Awards

B&M Waste Services is nominated for Excellence in Responsible Business and Excellence in Sustainability categories at GBCC Awards.

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has announced its annual awards shortlist this week and ninety-two businesses are set to gather at the annual dinner and awards ceremony on 4th March at the ICC to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in the last year.

B&M Waste Services is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories, namely Excellence in Responsible Business and Excellence in Sustainability for its ongoing work with its clients to introduce sustainable waste management and recycling solutions to companies that want to waste less and recycle more and divert all their residual waste from landfill.

As a carbon neutral, family-owned and managed company, B&M has been helping its customers for over 60 years to save space, money and carbon by introducing technology and best working practices for waste management. Using tailored yet simplistic waste strategies B&M is having a major impact on the way businesses manage their waste effectively, whilst ensuring minimum impact on the environment and maximum benefit to the communities in which they operate.

Director, Dave Curtis said: “We are very proud to be nominated by the GBCC as it recognises our commitment to keeping sustainability at the heart of our business and encouraging our customers to do the same.”

Chamber chief commercial officer Katrina Cooke, who chaired the judges, said: “The judges faced a mammoth task this year and we’re so grateful for the time they took to assess all entries in detail. The standard of entries was again high with a number of previous winners and entrants joining the competition to be honoured on 4th March. We also thank the huge number of companies who took the time to complete entries.”

The shortlisted businesses will go head-to-head to claim one of twelve sector awards, before finding out who will be crowned as the overall Business of the Year.
