Summer Showcase – Wolves outlines ambitious plans for now and the future

Downtown in Business, in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton Council, hosted a ‘summer showcase’ event this week, launching the city’s investment prospectus, and the new business support facility IGNITE.

Council leader Ian Brookfield and chief executive Tim Johnson outlined their ambitions in a comprehensive presentation to around 100 business leaders at the spectacular Medicine Bakery and Kitchen venue in the heart of the city.

The event also featured a contribution from Regeneration Brainery, with Capital & Centric Director explaining the work they do to support young people.

Cllr Brookfield said “These are exciting times for Wolverhampton, and we have a big focus on supporting our young people and providing them with as many opportunities as we can. We want private sector partners who are interested in our long-term journey, and who are genuine about giving something back to the city. Equally, we will be clear about what our vision is and what our expectations are and make working with us as easy and red-tape free as we possibly can.”
