Azets, the UK’s largest regional accountancy firm and business advisor to SMEs, has appointed three new senior team members to its Midlands team, further strengthening its position as a top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm.
Jay Hussain joins as partner in the risk assurance department, Tim Thackaberry has been appointed as associate director in the forensic accounting team, whilst Joe Dimambro is appointed senior manager in the accounts and business advisory service team.
Jay joins the Firm’s risk assurance team where he will help to grow the non-statutory audit and advisory services across the Midlands region. Jay is a CIPFA qualified practitioner with over 20 years’ experience of working with audit committees and executive teams of public and private sector organisations to improve their business process, ways of working and overall efficiency. He has previously worked at KPMG, Haines Watts and Moore Stephens and brings a wealth of experience covering internal audit, transformation, fraud investigations, regulatory “trouble shooting” and organisational development. Jay’s work in the wider Midlands includes 10 years providing audit and advisory services to most of the region’s metropolitan councils, several borough and district councils, four police forces, a number of health trusts and FE colleges and a brace of large INGOs. Both Tim and Jay will be based at Azets’ Birmingham office.
As associate director, Tim will look to strengthen Azets’ growing forensic accounting and valuations practice in the Midlands. Tim adds more than 20 years’ experience to the team and joins from BDO, where he has spent the past four years as valuations manager. He will be based out of Azets’ Birmingham office. Tim has undertaken share and business-related valuation work since 2003, for both contentious and non-contentious matters such as taxation, financial reporting, commercial and disputes. Tim’s valuation experience includes private companies, shares, share options, share incentive schemes, intangible assets, deferred consideration, and impairment reviews.
With a career spanning 17 years, Joe specialises in supporting owner managed businesses grow by utilising cloud-based accounting. Within his role as senior manager, Joe also advises clients on business efficiency, accounts preparation and tax from Azets’ Walsall office.
