DIB event focusses on Culture, Values, and People

Downtown in Business Birmingham, in association with HR and health & safety experts HPC, hosted an exclusive Roundtable lunch at the offices of EY this week, where a range of issues including workplace culture, mental health, and new employment law legislation was discussed.

DIB chief executive Frank McKenna and HPCs Lisa Matthew led a lively conversation on changes that companies had experienced since the end of the pandemic; the slow but sure return of many employees to the office; and the positive heightened awareness of wellness and mental health as an issue that good employers offer support for.

Among the Birmingham businesses involved in the discussion were Edgbaston Cricket Club, HDY Agency, East Village PR, and event host EY.

Mr McKenna said:

“What this event demonstrated was the increasing complexity in the area of employee engagement and support, and the huge importance of having good HR in your business. That is why DIB has teamed up with HPC to offer complimentary HR services for our members. The ‘one complete’ package is a great way of ensuring that your company has, at the very least, the basics in place, and provides you with an opportunity to speak to a HR adviser if you do have any pressing issues to deal with.”
