Great event on the morning of Tuesday 4th October 2022 at Liverpool John Lennon Airport hosted by Downtown in Business.
I arrived at 8:45 at the terminal building to be welcomed by Robin Tudor of Liverpool Airport along with other attendees, including my legal colleague, Mark Williams. After a speedy ID check, we were taken a short distance through the airport, through security to ‘air side’ where the event was taking place in the lounge bar.
A well-attended event, the session started with open networking before the Q&A began, genially hosted by Frank McKenna of DiB, and with questions from the floor.
The first speaker was John Irving, CEO of Liverpool John Lennon Airport who on the challenges faced by the airport during covid and, happily, the progress and return to normality since with the more recent announcement of new routes offered by Lufthansa into Frankfurt; an international hub airport. John also spoke of the business benefits of Liverpool airport, the great check-in capacity, expedited journey through the airport and plans ahead for further still speeding up and simplifying the check-in, security and boarding process for passengers with the use of technology.
Counsellor Liam Robinson, then spoke and gave indications of transport and infrastructure improvements going forward which compliment the airport reach for business and the visitor economy to the city.
A bright morning, informative session and great connections made, against a picture window backdrop of planes headed skyward. Thanks again to all involved. I look forward to the next.
