DevaFest 2024: A Family-Friendly Festival with Unmatched Hospitality

One of the most striking features of DevaFest was its commitment to providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all attendees.

On the 8-11 August, we had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of DevaFest, an annual festival that brings together music, food, and family-friendly fun at the beautiful Cholmondeley Castle.

While the festival boasted an incredible lineup of performances and activities, what truly stood out to us was the exceptional level of hospitality that permeated every aspect of the event.

One of the most striking features of DevaFest was its commitment to providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all attendees, even in the often-overlooked aspects of festival life, like toilets.

Unlike the dingy porta-loos you find at many other festivals, DevaFest invested in cleaner, more luxurious toilet facilities that made a significant difference to the overall experience.

It’s a small touch, but one that reflected a broader trend in hospitality: the understanding that comfort and cleanliness are non-negotiable.

For those who wanted to take their festival experience to the next level, DevaFest also offered glamping options that went beyond the usual tent setup. The glamping tipis, complete with raised solid beds with memory foam mattress and electricity, providing a cozy retreat after a day of festivities.

It’s the perfect blend of adventure and comfort, showing that festivals can cater to those who want to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing the comforts of home.

Food was a cornerstone of our festival experience, and DevaFest did not disappoint.

The array of food vendors was nothing short of spectacular, offering a culinary journey that catered to all tastes.

We indulged in burgers from the Smash Burger van, and it was absolutely brilliant. From the mouth-watering Jamaican dishes at Munchies to the delectable Thai offerings at the Thai food van, every meal was a highlight!

Even Chester favorite restaurant Artezzan was there all weekend selling gorgeous fresh wood fired pizza and delicious soulvaki.

What set these food vendors apart was not just the quality of the food but also the warm, friendly service they provided. It was a reminder that in the hospitality industry, exceptional service can elevate even the simplest of meals into something memorable.

DevaFest is more than just music and food; it was a family-friendly festival that offered something for everyone.

The positive vibes were infectious, with free fair rides and water sports adding to the fun. A unique highlight was Bubble Inc., a bubble specialist that filled the festival grounds with bubbles every day, delighting both children and adults alike.

The Old Time Sailors, a 20-piece shanty live music show, was another standout performance, drawing crowds with their lively and engaging set.

We had the pleasure of meeting many first-timers at the festival, all of whom shared their excitement about returning next year.

Equally impressive was the number of repeat visitors, many of whom have made DevaFest an annual tradition. The unanimous sentiment was clear: everyone who came to DevaFest left with plans to return.

DevaFest offered a masterclass in how to deliver a hospitality experience that goes above and beyond. By focusing on the details—whether it was clean and luxurious facilities, food options, or creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families—the festival set a high bar for what a truly exceptional event can look like. For the broader hospitality industry, there’s much to learn from DevaFest’s approach. It’s a reminder that when you prioritize comfort, quality, and a positive customer experience, you create not just an event, but a lasting memory.
