This September, Nugent is proud to be recognised as Downtown in Business’ Business of the Month for Manchester. Since 1881, we have been at the heart of communities across the North West, supporting children, young people, adults, and families when they need it most.
As a leading social care charity, Nugent provides a wide range of services including children’s homes, adult residential care, community services, and supported living. At the core of everything we do is a simple mission: to help the people we support to live safe, fulfilling, and meaningful lives.

Our vision is to together, provide a lifelong pathway of support for individuals and communities in need. This commitment drives everything we do, ensuring that no matter where someone is on their journey, Nugent is there to walk alongside them.
Our Strategic Plan
This year, we launched Imagine Our World – our bold new strategic plan that sets out how we will make a lasting difference over the next five years and beyond. The plan focuses on five key aims:
• Accommodation – Providing safe spaces for those in need
• Employability – Empowering individuals with the skills and resources needed to secure employment and build sustainable livelihoods
• Poverty Alleviation – Seeking to address all forms of poverty, such as food, hygiene, and financial crisis.
• Quality of Life – Strengthen the ability of the people we support and our colleagues to sustain a healthy quality of life.
• Making Memories – Creating opportunities for individuals and families to experience joy, break cycles of adversity and create lasting memories
Through these priorities, we are committed not just to responding to need, but to shaping brighter futures for generations to come.
