Restaurateur Robert Melman is set to open his first flagship restaurant since his shock departure from the Fazenda group. Jardim, a new and exciting South American rodizio concept is to open its first site in Melman’s UK home town of Altrincham in November.
Jardim will offer all you would expect from a traditional rodizio but with this concept there will be a lot of heart and sentiment behind it, with a real connection to the earth. Jardim, which translates from Portuguese to garden, will offer all a signature rodizio meat selection but there will also be a large choice of lighter options with the restaurateur keen to use seasonal, local produce to bring something new to the rodizio sector. The 120 cover restaurant will stay true to its South American roots serving a continuous flow of the highest quality, perfectly grilled meat as well as a choice of unlimited sides and accompaniments from a salad bar.
Robert Melman said: “I wanted to create something new where I can add the personal touch again. I love the excitement of bringing fresh and new ideas together and building a team to deliver that. As brands grow bigger that personality can be lost. Jardim has been a lockdown project of mine and I am loving the excitement of bringing something new to Altrincham. I have had the opportunity to be creative again and have loved exploring the perfect blend of Brazilian style dining with some of my native Argentina. As I never had the chance to say goodbye to my former team, who were like a family to me, I think it’s important for them to see that no matter the situation, you can always make good, even in the most trying of times.”
Melman has teamed up with Chris Milner, his Operations Manager of nearly ten years, to start again with a blank canvas and the freedom to try new ideas in a fabulous location. With their first site due to open this November, and an additional venue in the pipeline for 2022, this brand is definitely one to watch.
