Cheshire and the Northern Powerhouse

On Thursday 27th June, Downtown in Business will host another event in our highly popular ‘Northern Power Towns’ series. ‘Cheshire and the Northern Powerhouse’ will take place in Chester from 12:00pm – 2:30pm, featuring Henri Murison, Chief Executive of The Northern Powerhouse Partnership.

This event will bring together leading figures from the private and public sectors and business leaders from across the Chester and Cheshire region for valuable networking and discussions. Leaders, chief executives, and senior decision-makers will be in attendance, alongside private sector partners.

The focus will be on opportunities to drive economic growth in the region through regeneration, culture, people, and collaboration. Discussions will cover the future of towns in the North and the latest developments within the Chester City region. Drawing on his experiences as Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership and his time on Newcastle City Council, Henri will share his unique perspectives on collaboration, innovation, development, and technology.

Henri’s role at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse Group makes him the perfect speaker to address current trends and issues facing businesses and communities in and around Chester. After his address, the floor will open for questions and discussion, allowing delegates to share their views.

Henri Murison, with his extensive background in public affairs and stakeholder relationships across financial services, public, and voluntary sectors, brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Appointed as the first Director of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership in 2017 and later as Chief Executive in 2022, Henri has also served as a Cabinet member at Newcastle City Council and held significant roles at the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Building Society.
