Downtown in Business in association with Steven Hunt Associates will kick off IHEEM 2025 with an exclusive breakfast event taking place at INNSiDE by Melia on Tuesday 21st October at 08:30AM.

As the NHS faces growing pressures around decarbonisation, digital transformation, and compliance, how can estates teams, designers, and contractors work together to deliver smarter, safer healthcare environments?

Join industry leaders for coffee, breakfast, networking, and a panel discussion with exploring the future of hospital infrastructure — from modern methods of construction and sustainable design to smarter systems, patient safety, and regulatory change.

This informal session will bring together voices from across healthcare estates and the built environment to share ideas, challenges, and practical solutions.

Speakers:

Paul Fitzpatrick is Director of Estates and Facilities at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT, with over 35 years’ experience in healthcare, engineering, and facilities management. He has led major projects including the £375m New Royal Liverpool remediation and now oversees the reconfiguration of hospital campuses across the Liverpool City Region.

Andrew Rodgers is a senior estates and facilities leader at Birmingham Women’s, with extensive experience across NHS Trust and PFI environments. He specialises in delivering complex projects that improve performance and value, and is passionate about sustainability, supporting his trust’s ambition to achieve net zero carbon by 2040.

Louise Jackson Zeniou is the founder of Cradle, a national charity supporting bereaved parents through early pregnancy loss services in partnership with the NHS. Alongside this, she is Director of Social Sustainability at MARLO Consulting, helping clients achieve growth through sustainable impact while creating long-lasting legacies and generating vital income for charities and community organisations.

Wendy Jones is Director of Estates and Facilities at iFM Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. She brings extensive leadership experience in estates and facilities management within the NHS, with a strong focus on service excellence, operational efficiency, and creating environments that support patient care.
