From 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM we will be bringing together business leaders from across Chester and the Chesire region and beyond to connect and network.

Downtown Chief Executive Frank McKenna will be interviewing leading entrepreneurs who all went into business at a young age and have built multi-million-pound companies over the past decade – against the backdrop of Brexit, a pandemic, and Liz Truss!

Laura Weldon of Studio WD, Jane Entwistle of Entyce Creative, Steven Hesketh of Hospitality Hero and David O’Hearns from Dawn Creative will be questioned on what the key ingredients are to succeeding in business. What lessons have these impressive entrepreneurs learned, and what are their views on various issues and their ambitions for the future?

About the Speakers:

Steven Hesketh– Steven is the CEO/Founder of The Hospitality Hero, Savvy Hotel Group and Savvy Collection. He is a Hospitality Investor, Consultant and Mentor. With over 30 years’ experience in Visitor Economy/Hospitality Sector – spanning hotels, apart-hotels/serviced apartments, resorts, hostels, leisure clubs, student accommodation, property development, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets, Steven is passionate about the delivery of Practical Skills Training, Work Ethic & Communication Skills, with a focus specifically in the education of Generation Y, Z & Alpha in a 21st Century world. Throughout his career he has championed the hospitality industry, Ensuring that we understand the local impact & determent Hospitality has in our Cities & Towns and ensure we put structures in place to Thrive. He is also the Chair of Chester Hospitality Association and Vice-Chair of Liverpool Hospitality (Association), as well as being Committee Member for UK Hospitality (Northern Region)

Jane Entwistle– Jane is the Co-Founder and Director of Entyce Creative, an innovative and professional design agency based in Cheshire who’s philosophy is to build long-lasting and rewarding relationships with clients. graduated from Lancaster University with a First Class Honours Degree she went on too work as a graphic designer and then as Co-Founder and Consultancy Director at Endorphin before founding Entyce Creative. They create thoughtful designs and ideas, and prode themselves on consistently delivering results by listening to clients and involving them at each stage of the work. Jane is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the digital marketing industry. Skilled in Digital Strategy, Web Design, Branding, User Experience, SEO and PPC, she was named Marketer of the Year at the Downtown in Business Women in Business Awards 2024.

Laura Weldon- Laura is the Creative Director and Founder of Studio LWD, a creative branding consultancy that creates engaging work, grounded in solid strategy. Laura previously worked as a designer at Creative Lynx, now part of Havas Lynx Group, and Hulsbosch, Australia’s leading branding agency, before launching her own venture Studio LWD in 2012 in an effort to cultivate her dream of bringing together a dedicated team of the highly skilled consultants, designers, copywriters, strategists and creatives that really understand industries and needs.

David O’Hearns- David is the managing director of Dawn Creative- a brand, digital and motion agency based in Manchester.  Having shown a natural talent for art in school he eventually studied Graphic Design. His enjoyment in creating visual identities led him to study branding in more detail so he could truly understand the power of a brand and develop the best methods for creating great results. With 26 years in the industry, 20 of them as a business owner, he truly understands what it takes to create an incredible brand. He set up Dawn Creative on a mission to rid the world of bad design and poor communication, and strongly believes that a brand should be rooted in its values, not fleeting trends.
