Much loved tapas bar and restaurant Silk Road is celebrating its 4th birthday this weekend and are taking the opportunity to say thank you. Having survived the pandemic, the team at Silk Road want to celebrate and thank the community for all the support they received during lock down.
The restaurant will celebrate on Sunday 22nd August starting with breakfast in the morning for families with a children’s character in attendance, face painting and a colouring competition. At lunch time the famous Silk Road giant paella will be cooked on the terrace and early evening will see live music and special offers on drinks, the sangria will certainly be flowing. Anyone who would like to join in the celebrations is advised to book early to reserve their table. All weekend the restaurant will also be running a raffle to win some amazing prizes with all proceeds going to Claire House charity.
During lockdown Silk Road began offering a take away service, this was a real lifeline to the restaurant and ensured no jobs were lost and that the business was able to ride out the storm. It was a difficult time for owners Chris Williams and Javier Mellado and now we have hopefully come out the other side they wanted to invite in all the people who have supported them over the last 4 years and say thank you.
Chris Williams said; “Since we opened Silk Road we have really enjoyed becoming part of the community in Heswall. Although the pandemic has been tough on us all one positive to come out of it was to see how people supported each other and we are really grateful that local people used our takeaway service – it really did help keep the business afloat. Our celebration on Sunday is just a small way to show how thankful we are.” Javier Mellado said; “Heswall is a great community and we are delighted to be a part of it. We have built up a very loyal customer base and a lot of people have become our friends – we look forward to continuing to serve this community for many years to come.”
