The Watering Can launches mouth-watering autumn/winter menu

As the long lazy Summer days give way to the enchanting months of Autumn, The Watering Can in Greenbank Park has launched a new seasonal menu to warm the hearts and feed the soul as guests enjoy the new flavours and combinations of the Autumn/Winter menus.

As the trees shed their leaves The Watering Can menus are bursting with vibrant new dishes embracing all of the splendour of the changing seasons.

The brand-new Breakfast menu has something for everyone to fuel up and face the day. Whether your daily morning kickstart is the best-selling English, Vegetarian or Vegan Breakfasts, The Watering Can is the perfect pitstop to please the most discerning tastebuds. Seasonal changes to the breakfast menu sees the welcome addition of a Banana and Nutella Brûlée Brioche (caramelised banana, Nutella, brioche toast, maple syrup, banana liqueur, whipped cream and hazelnuts), The Smashed Avocado (Pan fried halloumi, salt-baked beetroot hummus, avocado, crumbled vegan feta, pumpkin seeds) and a mouth-wateringly tasty Winter Fruit Salad (seasonal fruit, granola, Greek yoghurt, berry compote, honey, chopped nuts and glazed passionfruit).

The new lunch menu has also undergone an autumn inspired overhaul retaining some old favourites whilst embracing customer feedback requesting more small plates to be available. The menu has a delicious selection of open sandwiches and wraps, small plates, starters and main plates. Sides contain all of the popular winter warmers, including Chunky and Skinny Fries, Skinny Fries (with parmesan and truffle) and Pan-fried Haloumi with chilli jam.

The Watering Can’s most popular dish, the Posh Fish Finger Sandwich (beer battered coley goujons, lettuce, tartare sauce, toasted brioche) Is an all-year-round favourite! Also welcomed onto the menu are the Honey Roast Ham and Snowdonia Cheddar & IPA Cheese Sauce sandwich (garnished with tomato, charred onion, pork scratchings, garlic oil, toasted sourdough), Tempura Salmon Roll with Wasabi Mayonnaise and one that we know will become a firm winter favourite Roast chicken Breast with Chunky Chips (garnished with rosemary and thyme salt and served with the best white wine jus). The main plates also sees the introduction of the Italian classic, Linguini Puttanesca (with tomatoes, capers, olives and basil). And if a burger is what you need to stem the winter chill, the Rump Steak and Marrowfat Burger should hit the spot (served with Snowdonia cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion, iceberg lettuce, burger sauce, crispy onions and toasted brioche.

Watering Can owner, Keith Perryman said “We wanted a menu that felt fresh and vibrant as well as warm and inviting. Whether you are joining us for a quick bite, a business meeting or a lazy lunch and a get-together, we have produced a menu to satisfy everyone. We use local quality meat supplier Lakes Speciality Foods, who produce higher welfare produce and try to use local fresh produce suppliers where possible”.

The Watering Can have also launched the ever popular ‘Return of the Roast’ every Sunday. Keith continued “Last Sunday was our first Sunday Roast service with guests enjoying a traditional home cooked Sunday feast, which we believe is genuinely ‘as good as ya ma’s. We cannot believe how fast the slots fill up for Sundays”.

The Watering Can is open seven days a week from Monday-Sunday, 9am-7pm.
