30 James Street receives 5* rating

30 James Street Hotel was delighted to receive a 5* rating following an unannounced visit by the city’s Environmental Health Office recently.

30 James Street Hotel, which was purchased by RIMC Hotels and Resorts GmgH based in Hamburg in May 2023 was delighted to receive a 5* rating following an unannounced visit by the city’s Environmental Health Officerecentky.

The venue had previously received a 1* rating prior to RIMC’s takeover and investment with large parts of the report focussing on lack of maintenance work. The team have worked tirelessly over the previous months to ensure that all relevant improvements and recommendations were made. 

Liam McAuley, General Manager said “We are absolutely delighted that the changes we have made to our operation have resulted in 30 James Street receiving a 5* rating. Our guests can enjoy top quality food and service in the knowledge that our back of house operation meets the highest standards and scrutiny”.

The Hotel, which is due to close for a multi-million pound refurbishment in late spring this year, has pledged to honour the historic buildings heritage whilst introducing a multi-functional and innovative hospitality offering, which is set to become one of Liverpool’s finest Hotels and will re-open early in 2025.

Duncan Gray, Managing Director of RIMC (UK) said “When we took over this magnificent building last year, we pledged to honour its history and to preserve the building for the future as an exciting new hospitality venue.  Despite the challenges we have faced in readiness for the full refurbishment, our dedicated team have worked incredibly hard to implement the highest standards at the Hotel. This 5* rating is testament to the hard work the talented team at 30 James Street have done”.

Once the headquarters of the White Star Line shipping company, where the RMS Titanic was registered, the venue will undergo a complete renovation, covering 10 floors and the plans include a Top Deck Members Club, The Decks – which will accommodate 60 luxuriously furnished bedrooms, The Main Deck Restaurant, Brasserie and Bar, including The Waterline Experience and The Engine Room Bar which will incorporate an exciting unique social dining and live music experience.
