Facilities management firm, Avrenim, proudly hosted a charity family fun day at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool, providing a safe space for children from Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, Nugent and The Social Brokers to enjoy an afternoon of dancing, singing, face painting, balloon modelling, MMA, and various party games.
Avrenim were overjoyed and honoured to host over 140 children on behalf of three incredible charities, all of which are renowned for their life changing work across the Liverpool City Region.
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice cares for babies and young children aged 0-5 years with life-limiting, life-threatening, or complex conditions, while also providing specialist short-break support, palliative and bereavement care.
Nugent has over 140 years’ worth of experience operating care, education, community and social work services, with a focus on improving health, quality of life, and life chances, while reducing poverty and increasing safety for the most vulnerable in society.
The Social Brokers play a key role in assisting Schools, Colleges, Children’s Services, Early Help teams and Alternative Education Providers in maintaining positive relations with young people at risk of exclusion and criminal exploitation.
The event was a demonstration of Avrenim’s commitment to supporting those in need within the local community and a celebration of community spirit with key supporters volunteering to help. Working towards the collective mission of creating a fun filled day, children’s author and storyteller, Jude Lennon captivated everyone with a reading of her book, ‘Booksy’s Garden City,’ co-authored with renowned Liverpool author, Natalie Reeves Billing. This reading not only provided families with a wonderful book to take home, but also a child-friendly introduction to sustainability and environmental awareness.
Alongside the family fun day, Avrenim announced further commitment to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice as it joined ‘The ‘150’ – a campaign focused on 150 businesses each raising and donating £1,000 to its Capital Appeal through their own fundraising efforts.
Simon Harris, CEO of Avrenim, said:
“At Avrenim, aligning with local charities and community groups is more than just a commitment; it’s a core part of our ethos. Our charity family fun day was our way of giving back to three incredible charities, all of which do inspiring work across our city. I am also very proud to be partnering with Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice on its ‘150’ campaign as it is a privilege to be one of the businesses chosen to support the initiative, and we can’t wait to get started fundraising for its Capital Appeal.”
Aimee Clare, Capital Appeal Lead at Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice Liverpool, said:
“Our babies and children had a wonderful time at the Hilton hotel for Avrenim’s family fun day getting their faces painted and joining in with the party games.
“Thank you to Avrenim for inviting us and for joining The 150, supporting our Capital Appeal for a new home for Zoe’s Place.”
Jo Henney, CEO of Nugent, said:
“Avrenim’s family fun day provided a fantastic opportunity for the young people we support to enjoy an inclusive day out and create lasting memories.
“We are grateful to the Avrenim team for the invitation and look forward to future chances to work together.”
Paul Walmsley, The Social Brokers, said:
“We were privileged to be asked to support Avrenim on this event. To see the smiles on the faces of young people, families, and support workers was amazing. It was an incredible showcase of a large business in the city region putting the community first. Well done to John Newberry and the Avrenim team.”
