Liverpool City Council Leader, Cllr Liam Robinson, has been named Leader of the Year at a national awards ceremony celebrating the work of elected members.
Cllr Robinson was nominated for his “calm, committed leadership, focussed integrity and good governance which has helped the Council out of statutory intervention” and he was praised for building new relationships with partners and stakeholders across the city.
Downtown in Business Group chair and chief executive Frank McKenna said:
“Many congratulations to Liam on this very well-deserved award. Since taking over the leadership of the Council in 2023, he has made a huge impact on the organisation and moved the city forward.
“His engagement with business has been first-class, and the collaboration between Liam and the City Region mayor Steve Rotheram has been an important part of the newfound confidence within the Liverpool business community. We look forward to continuing our working relationship between DIB and Liam – and this national acknowledgement is good news not just for him, but for the city too.”
