easyJet to base a 9th aircraft at LJLA

The airline’s expansion will also support the local economy, with each of their UK-based aircraft supporting around 400 direct and indirect jobs and £27m UK gross value added.

easyJet have announced that they will be adding another aircraft to their base at Liverpool John Lennon Airport – talking their Liverpool fleet to 9.

The airline’s expansion will also support the local economy, with each of their UK-based aircraft supporting around 400 direct and indirect jobs and £27m UK gross value added (GVA).

easyJet’s latest commitment to their Liverpool operations, will see aninth A320 family aircraft join their base at Liverpool from next summer, enabling the airline to offer customers even more choice for flights and holidays from Liverpool across Europe and beyond.

New routes to Lisbon and Paphos were announced last week and will take off next summer providing more choice for customers looking for summer holiday inspiration next year, taking their number of destinations to 39.

2025 has so far, been a record year for the airport with our busiest summer ever. This further announcement underpins the strong work and cooperation between easyJet and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, creating new jobs directly at the airport and bringing further indirect investment to the Liverpool City Region”

The new aircraft brings the potential to increase services on existing services and create new routes directly from Liverpool.”

Over the past 12 months, easyJet has continued to grow its network at the airport, having launched ten new routes from Liverpool including Malta, Fuerteventura, Prague, Berlin, Marrakesh, City of Derry, Sharm el Sheikh, Split, Lisbon and Paphos. The airline is now operating 39 routes to 17 countries from Liverpool to destinations across Europe and North Africa.

Following the launch of easyJet holidays summer 2026 season, beach holidays and city escapes are on sale right up to the end of October 2026.
