Over 100 daredevils descended a dizzying 270ft recently, fundraising for We Love MCR Charity who support Mancunian communities and young people.

We Love MCR hosted their latest mind-over-matter fundraising challenge on Castlefield’s One Regent tower, which at a staggering 26 storeys high makes it the biggest top-to-bottom abseil in Manchester history!

A total of 105 people took part over Saturday and Sunday. Notable guests included the Lord Mayor of Manchester Donna Ludford and Deputy Lord Mayor Yasmine Dar, plus Manchester City Council Leader Bev Craig.

The total raised so far is £36,000 – smashing the Charity’s £30k target! All funds will go directly towards We Love MCR’s Stronger Communities Fund and Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund, which seek to empower local community projects and to change the lives of ambitious but disadvantaged young Mancunians. Feel like you missed out? We Love MCR tests their supporters’ bravery every year, so keep an eye on their website and Twitter for news on their next challenge in 2023…
