COMBA22 celebrates the best of Manchester

Over 240 of Manchester's leading business personalities gathered at the Lowry Hotel for the City of Manchester Business Awards 2022 hosted by Downtown in Business and this year sponsored by Franking Sense®. Winners included Bruntwood SciTech, Natalie Atkinson from FC United and Maria Murphy from Roland Dransfield PR.

Downtown in Business Manchester hosted the latest edition of its annual City of Manchester Business Awards gala dinner on the evening of Thursday 8th September 2022. This year’s sell out event was sponsored by national office technology company, Franking Sense®.

The awards saw over 240 of the city’s leading businesses and entrepreneurs gather at the stunning Lowry Hotel to celebrate the achievements of Manchester’s incredible business community.

The awards, hosted by BBC presenter and Downtown Manchester chair, Jacey Normand, alongside DIB’s Political Editor, Jim Hancock, celebrated companies and entrepreneurs that have made a successful and significant contribution to economic growth in the city region.

With sixteen awards handed out on the evening, there was a wide array of winners across a number of different sectors that were recognised for their achievement over the past twelve months. Winners included Bruntwood SciTech, Natalie Atkinson from FC United and Maria Murphy from Roland Dransfield PR who took home the Business of the Year, Tony Wilson Award and CEO’S Award respectively.

Commenting on the awards, Downtown CEO and Group Chairman, Frank McKenna said; “What an incredible night and a bunch of really deserving winners. The quality of the shortlists this year was fantastic and all nominees are thoroughly deserving of the recognition of their tremendous performance over the past twelve months.”

“A massive congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all of our sponsors and partners on the evening. The room dressing was fantastic so a huge thank you to the Festive Group, The Lowry Hotel were superb, as they are every year, and it was great to raise some money for We Love MCR charity.”

“Finally, it was great to have Franking Sense® as our headline sponsor for #COMBA22. We have worked with them for a number of years now and Daniel, Julian and the whole Franking Sense® team epitomise everything that #COMBA celebrates. We are delighted they were headline sponsor for #COMBA22.”

“It was another great Downtown evening and we look forward to doing it all again in another twelve months and celebrating and recognising even more fantastic businesses and entrepreneurs at #COMBA23.
