INNSiDE Newcastle, part of Meliá Hotels International, has launched INNSiDE OUTSiDE, a new initiative to connect the business community in the great outdoors with a series of ‘netwalking’ events.

INNSiDE OUTSiDE Netwalking blends business and leisure with a unique opportunity to get out of the office and connect with like-minded professionals, whilst enjoying the beautiful coast and countryside that surrounds the city.

The first in the series of netwalking events was curated and hosted by former international rugby player, Tom May. Tom spent over a decade in Newcastle Upon Tyne playing for the Newcastle Falcons, he now commentates for Sky Sports, BT Sport, talkSport and BBC Sport as well as the upcoming 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The first walk featured an 8km walk around Tynemouth, along the beach and up to Cullercoats and back along the coast, before heading back to INNSiDE Newcastle to continue business back at the hotel’s in-house Gino D’Acampo Quayside restaurant and bar.

INNSiDE OUTSiDE forms part of INNSiDE’s philosophy ‘Stay Curious’, which aims to accommodate guests’ every need with inspired lifestyle experiences enriched with locally curated music, art, independents and culture.

Former Newcastle Falcons rugby player, Tom May, commented: ‘I’m excited to launch the Netwalking series with INNSiDE by Melia. We are lucky that Newcastle is surrounded by fantastic scenery, INNSiDE OUTSiDE is a great way to experience the outdoors, improve fitness and our general wellbeing, while also making meaningful connections with other professionals in the area.’

Garry Fortune, UK Director of Operations at Melia Hotels International, said: ‘INNSIDE OUTSiDE perfectly fits with our Stay Curious ethos, which encourages guests and friends of the hotel to be part of everything that’s great about the local area, making the most of their INNSiDE experience.’
