Love is in the air at Lu Ban this month, and you can enjoy the stunning Valentine’s Day banquet. There is much to devour with Champagne, steak, lobster and more exquisite dishes on the menu.
The menu, created by Chef Dave Critchley who draws inspiration from the authentic flavours of Tianjin, China is a spectacular collection of dishes, with Champagne and oysters to start, followed by steak and lobster served with rice, soup, and sides. Then the stunning finale of the chocolate sphere dessert makes the perfect romantic meal.

RAINBOW CRACKERS AND ‘FRAZZLE’ CAVIAR – Prawn crackers with smoked frazzle caviar
YIN AND YANG HOT AND SOUR SOUP – Traditional hot and sour baby vegetable soup
A GREAT BRITISH OYSTER – A Great British oyster with Szechuan chilli oil, green onion and black vinegar – as seen on the BBC’s Great British Menu
STEAK AND FRAGRANT MUSHROOM AND SZECHUAN LOBSTER TO SHARE – Sirloin of Shorthorn beef, garlic and black pepper sauce with grilled half lobster, sesame prawn toast, mango and Chinese leaf
STRAW NOODLE FRIES – With Crispy straw potato, Lu Ban salt and pepper and Chinese mayonnaise
WOK TOSSED GREENS – Seasonal Chinese greens, garlic and ginger
STEAMED JASMINE RICE – Lotus steamed rice parcel with jasmine tea
CHOCOLATE SPHERE – Chocolate dome with peanut butter and sesame ice cream, smoked sea salt caramel
There is also a vegan Valentine’s menu option.
The Valentine’s Menu is available from Thursday 10th February to Monday 14th February.
£75 per person for the Valentine’s Menu and £60 per person for the vegan Valentine’s Menu.
Lu Ban serves Chinese dishes inspired by the Tianjin region. Chef Dave Critchley, who is currently appearing on BBC Two’s Great British Menu, leads a team of chefs to create fabulous food, and a front of house team to deliver excellent service.
