On Tuesday, 17th September, Downtown in Business Birmingham invites professionals from various sectors to join us for an exclusive Leaders Lunch event with Naomi Smith, CEO of Best For Britain.

The event, part of the highly popular and informative Leaders Lunch Series, will take place at the fantastic Fazenda Bar and Grill in Birmingham from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, providing a unique opportunity for networking and discussion.

Naomi will address DIB members, sharing her extensive experience and insights gained from her time at Best For Britain. Her talk will focus on the continuing impact of Brexit and the current economic climate on businesses as well as reflect on the result of the recent election and the new Labour Government. Naomi’s background in leading successful campaigns and her role at Best For Britain has provided her with a deep understanding of both the social and economic impacts of Brexit and Government policies. Naomi will share valuable insights on the challenges facing the Birmingham region and beyond, discussing how current legislation can be leveraged to benefit businesses and individuals, helping them to overcome challenges and thrive.

Best For Britain is a cross-party campaign group dedicated to creating an inclusive, confident, and united Britain. Originally launched in April 2017 to stop Brexit and maintain the UK’s membership in the European Union, the organisation’s focus has since shifted to promoting greater internationalism and re-engagement with Europe. They aim to keep the UK open to EU membership in the future while fostering internationalist policies and business cooperation in the short term.

Naomi has been CEO of Best For Britain since 2019, having previously served as their Chief Operating Officer. She was also Executive Director of Campaigns at the business lobby group London First. Before focusing on her campaigning work, Naomi spent 15 years in finance and accounting with firms such as Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She holds the FCMA/CGMA designation (AICPA/CIMA).

Throughout her career, Naomi has been passionate about campaigning and has chaired several charity groups. Drawing on her experience in changing minds and challenging perceptions, she will provide a unique and empowering perspective on the current issues in our ever-changing economy. Naomi will also outline her thoughts on the future of the UK and the economy post-Brexit, offering insights into what the UK’s relationship with the EU might look like under a new government.

Best for Britain’s team of polling scientists, researchers, communications experts, and digital strategists provide the public and parliament with the data and tools needed to navigate the post-Brexit landscape. By bringing together researchers, data scientists, strategists, and activists, Best For Britain aims to address the challenges facing the UK and help shape its future for the better.
