New Birmingham office space officially opens with Metro Bar reimagining and networking hub featuring darts and free chocolate.
The former Birmingham business community meeting point, Metro Bar, is back – but not as you know it.
The Metro Club, the new home of the mid-tier business advisory firm Sedulo, officially opened its doors to its team, clients, contacts and Birmingham’s business community this week with a launch event featuring performances from UK R&B royalty Shola Ama and Ibiza DJ Krystal Roxx.
Located in the Grade II-listed Cornwall Buildings in Birmingham city centre, the site blends a modern office space for Sedulo’s team of business advisors with a social events space for the city’s most forward-thinking and innovative businesses to connect and access growth support.
It is described as a reimagining of the iconic Metro Bar, with original architectural features and nostalgic touches restored from the original site before it became Zen Metro in 2016.
There are multiple themed meeting rooms paying homage to Birmingham brands Lloyds Bank, Typhoo and Cadbury, with rooms featuring bank vault décor, 13,000 teabags and free chocolate, as well as complimentary breakfast and refreshments available for all guests.
Sedulo say the Metro Club is a key piece of the strategy to hit ambitious growth plans of doubling in size over the next three years, with the space able to accommodate up to 60 staff and complementing similarly themed office spaces in Manchester, Liverpool. Leeds and London which have previously been featured by the likes of the BBC as some of the UK’s coolest office spaces.
Chief Revenue Officer at Sedulo, Leyton Jeffs, said of the new space:
“At Sedulo we have always been focussed on treading our own path. Whilst there is lots of market consolidation, we are steadfast in executing our own vision – a world class advisory business.
“Our new venue in the heart of Birmingham is a continuation of this journey. Not only does it provide our Midlands team with a state of the art office space, the events and hospitality area, that is open to clients and the Birmingham professional community, will provide a hub to nurture relationships and innovate. I’m excited to see the growth of our team, services and networks out of Birmingham.”
