This year feels particularly significant for Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. With the proposed new Mayoral Development Corporation set to be the largest and most ambitious MDC in the UK, there is a real opportunity to showcase the scale of ambition, transformation and partnership taking place across our city-region.
It is hugely encouraging to see such strong leadership attending the conference, including Mayor Richard Parker, Ed Cox and Joanne Roney, alongside many of Birmingham City Council’s senior leadership team.
Just as importantly, there will be a substantial private sector delegation travelling to Leeds, demonstrating the commitment of developers, investors, professional services firms and businesses who continue to back Birmingham and the wider region with confidence and passion.
