Reflecting the evolution and growth of the practice, Liverpool based DK-Architects have made two senior
management appointments. Jamie Thompson has been promoted to Director and Gethin Hughes has
been promoted to Associate.
Jamie joined DK-Architects in 2006, became an Associate in 2014, and has been an Associate Director
since 2017. Jamie has played a pivotal role in improving the quality of every aspect of the practice for many
years; leading high profile and award-winning projects, managing and mentoring staff, and taking
responsibility for many critical aspects of compliance and quality management.

Jamie joins David Dickerson and David Gilkes as current Directors of the Practice. Together with Associate
Director Hannah Bolton, this senior leadership team is at the heart of ensuring the best possible outcomes
for the many exciting projects and opportunities DK-Architects are currently exploring.

Gethin Hughes joins Nick Steele as an Associate at DK-Architects. Since joining the practice in
2016, Gethin has consistently demonstrated the professionalism, diligence and commitment that make
him a highly valued member of the team. Throughout his time here, he has earned the respect of
colleagues, clients, consultants and contractors alike through his conscientious approach, technical
expertise and ability to deliver projects efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
This promotion recognises Gethin’s significant contribution to the practice and his continued commitment
to delivering quality work while supporting those around him and we look forward to his continued
contribution to the future success of the practice.
Over more than three decades, DK Architects has built a reputation and gained many awards for designing
and delivering successful sustainable buildings, spaces and places across many sectors including
commercial, cultural, housing, health, leisure, masterplanning, and urban regeneration.
Notable practice projects include the RIBA National Award winning housing project ‘The Gables’; Points
Cross, a residential led mixed use urban masterplan in Leeds providing 928 homes, commercial spaces
and 2 acres of public open space, with 494 affordable homes already under construction; the recently
completed Clover House, a Housing Design Award winning project delivering vital homelessness
accommodation for Jigsaw Homes; a key placemaking regeneration project in Palace Fields, Runcorn for
Riverside that will deliver new housing alongside a new church, community facilities and local centre
commercial spaces; Planit-IE’s office in Altrincham; and The Glass House, a contemporary one-off house
nestled in the grounds of a Grade II Listed Georgian Mansion House
