Downtown in Business Liverpool hosted its sixteenth annual ‘Livercool’ awards on Thursday (22nd November 2018) evening at top city centre hotel the Hilton – and rewarded leading business personalities from across the city region at a glittering Eighties themed evening.

Hosted by Radio City duo Simon Ross and Peter Price the gala dinner attracted a sell-out crowd of the city’s top movers and shakers, who enjoyed an evening of networking, celebrating and partying as they revelled in the nostalgia of the 1980’s.

Frank McKenna Chief Executive and Group Chairman of Downtown in Business commented;

“Now in its sixteenth year, this annual jamboree does more than any other event to epitomise the Downtown ethos of ‘work hard, play hard’.

“This evening we celebrated the individual talent – the business leaders and entrepreneurs – that have made a significant contribution to the economic growth of the city.

Liverpool has been totally transformed since we launched Downtown at this event back in 2003. Our city has gone from strength to strength during those fifteen years, our business community has grown and is more vibrant than any time since the war, and Liverpool has restored its reputation as a genuine player in what we now call the Northern Powerhouse.

“A huge thank you to Camp and Furnace for sponsoring this gala dinner, and to all the award sponsors too. I would also like to say how grateful we are to Marcus Magee and his team at the Hilton Hotel for hosting the evening. Congratulations to all the winners, in particular our business personality of the Year, Peter Moore, the Liverpool FC CEO. I sincerely hope it’s the only thing Liverpool win this season.”

Among other winners were racehorse owner Marwan Koukash, the Managing Partner of MSB Solicitors Emma Carey and Emma Stoddart of Grant Thornton.
