Downtown in Business is delighted to announce that Acorns Children’s Hospice will be the official charity for the City of Birmingham Business Awards 2022.

Acorns Children’s Hospice have a number of dedicated teams that provide specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and support for their families. This support is offered from their three hospices based in Worcester, Birmingham and Walsall, as well as in the family home and community.

With over 1,300 active volunteers who work in all areas of the organisation, including the hospices, fundraising and their chain of over 40 retail shops, it takes all kinds of wonderful people to make Acorns the special place that it is. Their skilled professional staff, amazing volunteers and ambassadors and dedicated families all contribute towards making every day count for the children who access Acorns services.

KJ Clarke from Downtown in Business Birmingham commented; “I am incredibly excited to be hosting our annual City of Birmingham business awards again. A day where the best in the city join to celebrate the successes of the year and the excitement of the future for us all in business. Birmingham is a very close-knit community where it is collaboration over competition, so it is always amazing to raise a glass to show our support and congratulations while networking with new and old friends and connections.

The whole Downtown team are delighted that we will be raising money for the Acorns team at #COBBA22 and I know the fantastic Birmingham business community will do their part on the evening. We have some amazing prizes to raffle on the evening and all money raised goes to help and incredibly worthy cause.

I can’t wait to celebrate the winners, although everyone is a winner is my eyes. There is so much talent and skillset in Birmingham and I am more than honoured to be a part of it all. Let’s get ready for #COBBA22, it is an evening not to be missed!”

Abigail Coulson, Corporate Partnerships Fundraising Manager at Acorns added; “We are super excited to be partnering with Downtown in Business for their iconic COBBA Awards for 2022 and we cannot wait to attend on the evening and support the team in delivering a truly fantastic event! Each year the COBBA Awards brings together some of Birmingham’s finest and as the local children’s hospice for Birmingham we feel privileged to be the chosen charity beneficiary for this event.”
