A former Treasury official who went on and helped to put together devolution deals in Manchester and the West Midlands was the guest speaker at the latest Downtown in Business Lancashire event on Wednesday 21st September 2022.

Mike Emmerich, who is now a Director of Metro Dynamics, spoke at our Leaders Lunch at the Holiday Inn, Preston, and commented on a range of issues, including the government’s plans to tackle the current economic crisis, and the opportunities and threats facing Lancashire in the months ahead.

Emmerich, who was part of the team who drew up the Greater Lancashire plan two years ago, offered the view that a devolution deal would benefit the county by attracting increased government investment, and allowing a greater control of key strategic policy areas such as Skills and training, and transport.

The next Lancashire Leaders Lunch will take place on Thursday 27th October 2022 with Shadow Business Minister Bill Esterson MP. CLICK HERE for details.
