The Downtown in Business team was in Cannes last week for the international property festival MIPIM.
DIB hosted a Leaders Lunch, sponsored by Sutcliffe, and featuring presentations from the chief executives of Manchester, Newcastle, and Salford City Councils – Joanne Roney, Pam Smith, and Tom Stannard – and the leader of Liverpool City Council, Liam Robinson.
Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter team, Colin Sinclair (KQ), Nuala Gallagher (Liverpool City Council), and Tim Jones (Liverpool University), also outlined the plans for one of the city’s most investable regeneration areas.
Downtown boss Frank McKenna commented:
“It was a really positive week for the cities who attended MIPIM this year. The event attracts over 20,000 delegates, and so it is a big shop window and one, in my opinion, that you need to be seen in.
“It was good to see many DIB members in Cannes as well – with a particular shout out to Avison Young for arguable the ‘exhibition stand’ of the festival.
For details of how you can get involved in DIBs ‘property package’. which includes events focussed on construction, planning, and regeneration throughout the year, including UKREiiF, the London Real Estate Forum, and MIPIM 2025, please contact chris.mckenna@downtowninbusiness.com.
