National business award winner announced as latest DIB partner

Fast-growing window and door manufacturer Warwick North West has announced a new partnership with lobbying and networking group Downtown in Business.

Fast-growing window and door manufacturer Warwick North West has announced a new partnership with lobbying and networking group Downtown in Business.

Warwick has been a member of Liverpool-based Downtown for the past 18 months. Now the firm, which employs more than 120 people, will step up its collaboration with DIB to maximise the opportunities offered by Frank McKenna and the Downtown team.

Over the next 12 months, Warwick will be a strategic partner, something which managing director Greg Johnson believes could be of great benefit to both Warwick and Downtown.

He explained: “There are real synergies here for both of us. At Warwick we value the strength and depth of Downtown’s network and the connections it offers to key business and political decision makers both in the Liverpool city region and in Whitehall.”

In October 2024 Bootle-based Warwick was a sponsor of a Downtown Parliamentary reception at the House of Commons which took place on Budget day. Greg spoke at the event.

He added: “Multiple Liverpool city region businesses made the trip to London with our own Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, also present. It really highlighted for me the power of being part of a wider network.

“Liverpool city region doesn’t just need to look inward, it needs to connect and build relationships with Westminster. Organisations like Downtown are key to that. I want us to make a real contribution to the Downtown network and be part of a powerful voice for Liverpool city region businesses.”

Downtown in Business has been operating for more than two decades. Starting in Liverpool in 2003, the DIB brand is now established in nine locations across the country, including Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, and Leeds. And is now considered to be one of the country’s most prominent and highly regarded business membership organisations.

It also has a presence in London and the West Midlands and now has more than 900 members. Its other partners include Atkins Realis, Bruntwood SciTech, HybridTec, Krol Corlett, Laing O’Rourke, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Muse, and Sutcliffe.

Downtown has facilitated more than £2bn of deals since it was founded. They have included public-private sector partnerships, investments for its stable of growth companies from a variety of funding agencies and B2B contracts.

Frank McKenna said: “It’s fantastic to have Warwick on board as a strategic partner this year.

There are certainly opportunities for Warwick to build on what is already a dynamic and successful business, but I think it’s important to mention the value they bring to the network too.”

In December, Warwick won the Fabricator of the Year accolade at the G-Awards, one of the country’s leading awards for the industry.

Frank added: “Warwick are now recognised as one of the top suppliers in the UK in their sector. They are highly regarded in terms of supply chain within the housing and construction sector. “Downtown has a high calibre of membership and Warwick has further added to that. Collectively, thanks to the quality of its members, Downtown is a formidable force in promoting the huge potential of the Liverpool city region.”
