B&M Waste Scores a Hole in One with Leyland Golf Club

B&M Waste Services has supported the prestigious Leyland Golf Club in diverting a staggering 100% of their waste from landfill when, previously, all waste was disposed of in this way.

The 18-hole parkland course was looking to boost their green credentials whilst also significantly improving their waste strategy. As both a local and Carbon Neutral waste services provider, B&M Waste was the obvious choice when it came to supporting the club.

As well as achieving zero waste to landfill, B&M Waste will also be supporting Leyland Golf Club in the coming summer months as demand grows and the club gets busier. This will be achieved through an increased collection frequency and – critical to both environmental improvements and cost efficiency – food segregation, which will reduce the weight of bins through anaerobic digestion of food waste.

Mark McGarry, Commercial Director of Leyland Golf Club commented that working with B&M had been a “smooth transition and great service”.

Josh Cairns, B&M Waste Account Manager for the club said; “Leyland Golf Club has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a company is committed to improving their waste strategy. To go from 100% to zero to landfill is staggering. We’re really looking forward to continuing with further improvements over the summer and beyond.”
