Hilton Hotel, Liverpool city centre, hosted their 9th annual STAR BALL on Saturday night, to support Alder Hey Hospital and the D. M. Thomas Foundation for young people.
The glamorous black tie Ball was superbly hosted by Peter Price and included a full evening of entertainment. Guests enjoyed a Champagne Reception and canapés, as five piece ukulele band Ukebox started the party, followed by a sumptuous four course dinner.
Celebrity guests supporting the Ball included comedy legend Jimmy Tarbuck, Boxer Paul Smith, LFC legends Jan Molby and John Aldridge, Radio City’s Simon Ross and Lord Granchester.
Entertainment included a set during dinner from crooner Alan Cross and following a charity raffle and auction the fantastic Soul Stars filled the dance floor with a party set of motown classics. To round the night off legendary DJ Charlie C kept the music flowing with a selection of dance-floor fillers.
The event raised over £45,000 for the nominated charities with some amazing auction prizes including a trip to Dubai, Sydney and Thailand, a Boodles Blossom diamond pendant, signed memorabilia and a trip to Barbados.
Hilton Liverpool General Manager, Marcus Magee, said “I am delighted that the 9th Hilton Liverpool city centre Star Ball has raised so much to support disadvantaged children and young people. I would also like to sincerely thank our team at the Hilton, our loyal sponsors, those who have donated prizes and bid for prizes and most of all those who came along to support our Ball and Barclays for their match funding. Next year will be our 10th anniversary of Star Ball and we are already planning something extra special.”
