  • Access advice and guidance on our free transport scheme, additional learning support and financial support
  • Discover how our innovative and forward-thinking tutors inspire and encourage students to achieve their full potential.

Principal of Burnley College Sixth Form Centre Karen Buchanan said:

“We’re passionate about ensuring each and every young person receives the support and guidance they need to find the right route for them after GCSEs. It is always a pleasure to welcome them into College where they realise the wealth of opportunity that awaits them.

“We would always encourage students taking their GCSEs next summer to have a look around College and see how it differs from the school environment, from the innovative approach to learning, facilities and extra-curricular activities.

“Our Open Events are the ideal opportunity to share our ethos with the community and welcome new students, parents and guardians into the Burnley College Sixth Form Centre family.”

If you cannot attend our November Open Event, there is an opportunity to attend a further Open Event on Thursday 17 January 2019, between 5.30pm and 8pm. To secure a space at the November or January event, visit www.burnley,ac.uk/events. Our Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event will be held on Wednesday 30 January 2019, 5.30pm to 8pm.

Karen Buchanan added:

“Our results speak for themselves. This year our students’ A Level pass rate was 99.5%, with 91% of students achieving at least one A* to C grade and 64% achieving at least one top A* to B grade. Our Advanced Vocational pass rate was 100% for the 15th consecutive year and 93% of students achieved at least one Distinction* to Merit grade.

“We want to share our success story. Wherever you are from and wherever you want to go next, we can help you achieve your goals – and have a great time in the process. We are passionate about your success and invite you to our Open Events to share our vision for your future.”
