On the 26th of February 2019, hundreds of students & residents gathered at Aintree Racecourse for the Sefton Skills Show.
Attendees discovered new vocational pathways, tried new skills & experienced exciting careers!
The Sefton Skills Show was the second in a series of four FREE events brought to you by Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Hub and organised by All About STEM. Further events will be hosted locally in Halton and Knowsley & St Helens with local employers, apprenticeship providers, colleges and universities under one roof.
At the Sefton Skills Show, a phenomenal range of exhibitors from numerous fields inspired students & residents with new skills, hands-on activities and apprenticeship & careers advice.
The event floor was bustling as attendees tried their hand at various vocations from business to barbering and virtual reality to healthcare. Experts were on hand to offer guidance and each exhibitor brought along their apprentices to discuss their own personal pathways.
The Sefton Skills Show began with a VIP launch which welcomed dignitaries including Cllr & Cabinet Member Marion Atkinson: “In Sefton we have huge aspirations for residents young and old”.
Guest speaker Siobhan Saunders, Chair Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Hub, highlighted the Hubs phenomenal achievements since May 2017. Siobhan was joined by Sovini Group who introduced their Apprenticeship Schemes & Development Programmes.
Apprenticeship Hub, Skills Strategy Manager, Melanie Dodd, said: “We were delighted by the numbers of residents and young people who attended the show and extremely thankful for the support we received from our exhibitors, that made the event such as success.”
All About STEM, Managing Director, Michelle Dow said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Apprenticeship Hub to help inspire all, about careers and pathways in the Liverpool City Region.”
