Hark and Dell Energy Innovation Summit at Well Met for Leeds

Hark and Dell are teaming up to bring together the brightest minds in energy efficiency technology and utilities to discuss the future of the sector at Well Met.

Hark and Dell are teaming up to bring together the brightest minds in energy efficiency technology and utilities to discuss the future of the sector at Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, on 24 April, as part of the Leeds Digital Festival.

In the first event of its kind, the Energy Innovation Summit will focus on the role of tech within energy efficiency.  The day-long event will feature expert panellists and leading industry specialist who will share their views, predictions and innovations.

Over 120 delegates are expected to attend the debate where topics up for discussion will include renewable energy, using technology to reduce energy usage and cost, sustainability in logistics and advising how companies can lever advances in energy storage and more.

Hark, a Leeds-based IoT company and multinational computer technology company Dell, have recently collaborated on real-time monitoring solutions to business in the retail, pharma and life science industries.  They will continue the partnership to deliver a series of events and seminars featuring technology in energy efficiency.

Jordan Appleson, CEO of Hark, said: “The Energy Innovation Summit is the first of a series of tech and energy innovation platforms we are joint-hosting with Dell throughout the year. We have a number of industry leaders and panellists joining the debate throughout the day and it’s a great opportunity to share ideas, experience and innovations to find solutions to issues currently affecting the energy industry.”

There will be a number of debating panels throughout the day, and guest speakers include representatives from key tech and energy players including Hark, Npower, NGN, Powerstar, Dell, Clique energy and Microsoft.

Clare Vidler, Conference Manager at Well Met, said: “We are delighted Hark and Dell have chosen to deliver their first Energy Innovation Summit with us here at Cloth Hall Court.  We launched our Green Sustainability charter recently, with green energies and energy saving initiatives that have sustainable conferencing at the heart.

“The 4.5 m refurbishment of Cloth Hall Court incorporates a Built Environment Management System (BEMS) controlling heating, cooling and lighting ensuring the building is as energy efficient as possible.  We have mineral quality water on tap, that removes unnecessary plastic bottles and our city centre location, just two minutes’ walk from Leeds train station, makes us a convenient meeting for delegates using public transport.”

The event has been organised by Leeds-based B2B marketing agency Halston Marketing who specialise in niche industries with a speciality in tech.
