Manchester-based digital and cloud service provider, ANS Group, has announced that it will support women looking to begin a career in tech through a partnership with Tech Returners.
ANS has partnered with fellow Manchester organisation, Tech Returners to support its ‘Your Journey into Tech’ programme. The programme aims to empower women who are returning from a career break to pursue new roles in the technology industry.
The 15-week programme, which offers flexible and part-time study, takes individuals through the fundamentals of software development, alongside personal development and career support in a positive learning environment. Since its inception, the programme has supported more than 25 individuals into tech roles.
Partners of the programme have the opportunity to hire from the cohort of 16 hand-picked individuals identified as having the drive and passion to succeed in a career in technology. ANS join Manchester Airport Group (MAG-O) and Lloyds Banking Group in supporting the programme, which has also worked with brands including the BBC and AutoTrader.
This is just one part of the ANS’s Women in IT campaign, which aims to give women and young girls the opportunity to pursue fulfilling and rewarding careers in technology.
Paul Shannon, CEO at ANS said: “Recent research indicates that the technology industry will need around 750,000 workers with digital skills to meet the rising demand in the coming years. There are many talented women who have the passion needed to fill this gap, with 76% professional women on a career break wanting to return to work.
“In joining this inspiring programme, we hope to encourage and empower exceptionally talented individuals to continue furthering their career by pursuing fulfilling and rewarding careers in a supported environment.”

Tech Returners has also recently announced the appointment of Harriet Ryder as Tech Coach to assist with delivery of a growing programme of initiatives and that it will work with University of Manchester to deliver first of its kind research on returners in the UK.
