Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, is pleased to welcome back to Cloth Hall Court FinTech North, for its fourth conference in the city: FinTech North Leeds 2019.

Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, is pleased to welcome back to Cloth Hall Court FinTech North, for its fourth conference in the city: FinTech North Leeds 2019.

Taking place on 23rd May, the event brings together leading FinTech organisations from the worlds of banking, financial services, tech firms and universities, that share the common goal to support FinTech organisations across the Northern Powerhouse.

Organisers predict an audience of over 300 attendees based on the success of the previous event and the continued growth of FinTech industries in the North. Delegates will hear from First Direct, Mastercard and the Bank of England, together with presentations, panel sessions and insights from innovative start-ups.

Clare Vidler, Well Met conference manager, said: “We hosted the pre-conference dinner for FinTech North last year at Cloth Hall Court, so the team and I are thrilled that they have decided to come back and hold the conference with us. Our flexible spaces cater from ten to 300 plus at a time and our city centre location, minutes from the Leeds train station, make us a convenient spot for visitors too.”

In a FinTech first, there are three streams of breakout sessions focussing on Mortgages, RegTech and innovation, diversity, growth and funding, so delegates can choose the session most relevant to them. FinTech delegates will be supporting their local FinTech industries, whilst benefiting from the culture of collaboration, opportunities to make deals, network and influence policy decisions.

FinTech North works in close partnership with local universities, including Leeds Beckett University. George Lodorfos, Dean of Leeds Business School, is taking part in the Skills, Hubs and Innovation in Leeds panel, and FinTech is looking forward to working with the Well Met team again.

Julian Wells, Director, Whitecap Consulting and FinTech North, said: “FinTech North hosted speakers, sponsors, and special guests last year for Cloth Hall’s inaugural VIP Dinner.

Last year’s dinner was perfect for setting the tone for the whole conference; it was relaxed, fun, and informal, but high quality and in a prestigious, historic location. The city-centre location was convenient for our guests visiting from across the UK and internationally. The team at the venue were incredibly helpful in creating and running a bespoke event specifically suited to our needs. We’re very pleased to be back and on a much bigger scale this year for the annual conference, which is particularly special to us as Leeds is FinTech North’s hometown.”
