Superhero walk success with Children’s Heart Surgery Fund

B&M Waste Services are a long term supporter of CHSF and offer businesses across the West Yorkshire region Carbon Neutral waste collections and recycling.

This year two hundred superheroes walked the grounds of Temple Newsam to raise valuable funds for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. They were joined by a hero and villain from B&M Waste Services, Ruby Rainbow and Ronald Dump. Ruby Rainbow is the queen of recycling, whereas Ronald Dump can frequently be seen emptying plastic and cardboard into the wrong bin!

B&M Waste Services are a long term supporter of CHSF and offer businesses across the West Yorkshire region Carbon Neutral waste collections and recycling. Their free Little Litter Pickers education programme, fronted by Ruby Rainbow and Ronald Dump is open to primary and secondary schools across the region wanting to learn more about reducing, reusing and recycling. Georgie Abbott, CHSF Corporate Partnerships Manager said, “We were delighted to have B&M Waste on board as our superhero walk sponsor. Their Little Litter Pickers programme encourages children to develop an understanding of recycling and learn how we can take better care of our natural environment. It was brilliant to see so many children enjoying the recycling games and challenges B&M Waste set out for them on the day before they took part in the walk.”

Maria Williams, Education Programme Leader, B&M Waste Services, told us, “It was a really moving and inspirational day at the fundraising superhero walk, it emphasised how important taking part in charity fundraisers is to all of us. These events are about more than raising money, they are about bringing people together for a social occasion and to provide support for families and children who have experienced heart surgery. I feel very privileged to work for B&M Waste Services who sponsored the walk – a company that cares for our environment and our communities.”

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund thank B&M Waste for sponsoring this event. Georgie continued “We couldn’t continue to help young babies and children born with heart problems in our region without the support of our corporate partners.”
