Andrew Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang MD, commented: “This is a big moment in the company’s history, maybe even the biggest moment ever, so we are incredibly excited to announce the major redevelopment of our premises & production over approximately the next 4 months. We have already made positive progress with ground work happening over the last 3 months with the help of a fantastic development team. It’s a long process to bring a development to fruition and you need the right team around you to deliver on this sort of scale & of course the whole journey has not been without its challenges given the complexity of the redevelopment being completed while we continue to do business day to day .
Our redevelopment & continued growth plan has in part been brought about by the council’s Better Roads programme to improve connectivity, of which the A565 Derby Road/Great Howard Street forms part. We as a company welcome the programme’s rationale to promote economic growth and regeneration, particularly here in north Liverpool. We’re confident that our redevelopment and projected future growth will be just one example of the effectiveness of improving the city’s road network, particularly along major gateways to create future prosperity for the Liverpool City Region.
We started the process over 3 years ago by finding the right Architects, after talking to a number of local companies we felt that K2 Architects were a great fit for what we wanted to achieve with a good track record. They have been with us on the journey right from the start and have guided us through the complex design process of planning to get the best possible final result. We have been really pleased and impressed with what they have delivered from concept to reality. K2 Architects have a strong creative team and have really taken the time to understand what we wanted to achieve and how our business functions at every level.
As a company we really know the importance of creating the right team internally, having seen 18%+ growth for each of the last 3 years we now want to take things to the next level so have the aspiration as a team to break into the elite top 1% of companies in our industry, aiming for 20%+ growth in the next 2 years after the development is completed.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”43420,43421,43422,43423,43424,43425,43426,43427″ layout=”3″ gallery_style=”1″ load_in_animation=”none” img_size=”300×300″][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_column_text]Things have really never looked more positive for Wild Thang and we are now Liverpool City Region’s biggest supplier in our sector, even after 23 years in business we are more excited than ever about the future opportunities for the company and its employees.
We genuinely believe the completed development will deliver a world class environment for our clients and colleagues that will allow us to take the business to the next World Class level which will hopefully lead to increasing our staff levels locally by approximately 25% over the next 2-3 year.
The completion and launch date will be announced soon so keep your eyes peeled for further progress and exciting updates.”
Chris Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang Director commented: “It’s very exciting times at Wild Thang and having been personally overseeing the tender process what has been the most pleasing aspect of getting the development to this point is that we have managed to keep as many links to Liverpool City Region as possible, it was competitively tendered and we were over the moon when local company Frank Rogers Building Contractors were the successful candidate to win the contract.
We know that Franks Rogers are a very well established local company with a reputation of delivering high quality developments and so far they are making good progress and we are confident their quality will be equal to their great reputation.
Two final pieces of the jigsaw are firstly Box Clever, who again had to be exactly the right fit, they have now taken us through the tender process and will be helping us deliver the development scheme as project managers until final handover, their advice and expertise to date has been truly invaluable. Finally our bankers Natwest have also supported us throughout the journey of the development and we are thankful for their ongoing financial support. The investment in the development of the premises, new machinery and infrastructure will be circa £2m+ over the next 12-18 months so we can truly realize our growth potential as a company. “
Dean Rogers, Frank Rogers MD “As a Liverpool firm, it’s always great to work with other pioneering local firms who are helping put the city region on the map nationally. Wild Thang is undoubtedly making waves within its sector and now, and with these new extended and upgraded facilities, they now have the space and scope to further grow and expand.”
Mark Davies, K2 Architects commented: “The new building at 331-337 Derby Road will serve as a precedent for high quality industrial design in the area and a reminder to others that industrial buildings can be colorful, compelling and engaging. The intervention aims to promote general wellbeing through sensitive, exemplary design and enhance the building’s internal/external functional operation. It works alongside Liverpool City Council’s upgrade of Derby Road; to propel the area into the next generation of smart infrastructure.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
