A bacon butty tax might did not feature in Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak’s budget on Wednesday (11th March) but its adoption by staff at Bamber Bridge’s JYM Partnership is certainly helping charity Rosemere Cancer Foundation with its finances!
The team at the building surveyors and architects donates any change left over from its weekly Friday morning bacon butty runs. It has been doing this for the last 18 months and during this time, has raised the tasty sum of £1,136.82 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation – a total also boosted by the sale of Rosemere Christmas cards and sponsorship from director Chris Bell’s successful Scottish Mountain Marathon.
Dan Hill, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s chief officer, said: “Paying tax can be hard to swallow so we’re immensely grateful to all at JYM for taxing their end of the week treat to benefit us.”
Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at the region’s specialist cancer treatment centre, Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, and at another eight local hospital cancer units across the two counties including that at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
