During the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we are expecting to see significant pressures on the social care sector as people need to self isolate, to recover from the virus themselves or to care for family members.  We have an immediate need to find extra people to work in social care to meet the demand for support.  The social care sector provides support to people who have disabilities or long term health problems, or older people being supported to live at home independently.  In Solihull, we have also a range of care homes for older people who may need staff.  Providers will be pleased to hear from people who may not have previously considered working in care, but who could have basic training and be supported to become part of the workforce in care.

We need people with a willingness to be part of a community that works to support the most vulnerable during this crisis.  So if you’re the sort of person who treats others with respect, listens to their needs, understands their emotions, and is warm, kind and honest, then  there is   a role  for you in adult social care. Information on the types of roles is available here

Many care providers have vacancies within Solihull  and  you can find a job here, or contact  Carmen Smith in Solihull Council for advice.  She’ll be pleased to help link you to potential employers and training Tel  0121 704 6812 .”
