Agent Academy’s latest cohort is set for a unique online graduation this week, in an event which will celebrate the next generation of young talent and bring together industry experts from across the digital, creative and tech sector.

Agent Academy’s latest cohort is set for a unique online graduation this week, in an event which will celebrate the next generation of young talent and bring together industry experts from across the digital, creative and tech sector.

The virtual event will take place live via Zoom on Wednesday 22nd April and will showcase the outstanding work of Agent Academy’s young people, aged 18 to 25, who have successfully completed the programme despite the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the final few weeks of their course, the students demonstrated their ability to adapt by moving to virtual sessions, working collaboratively and delivering their final presentation of findings and recommendations to their real-life client via online video presentation.

The graduation will feature a host of key-note speakers who will offer their views on the future of the digital, creative and tech sector and the development of fresh talent in a post COVID-19 world. Speakers include Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, founding director of Agent Academy, Paul Corcoran, who is also deputy chair of the LEP board and Chair of the LEP’s digital and creative board for the region, and Holly Hall, Managing Director at the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA).

With five years’ experience of securing jobs for young people in the creative, digital and tech sector, creating over £2.5 million in annual salaries so far, Agent Academy has a track record of success. The 12-week programme is designed and delivered by digital and creative specialists with contributions from business leaders and experts. Alongside industry training, participants work on a real-life client brief, offering a practical approach to learning to ensure they are ready to hit the ground running and successfully kick-start their future careers. The programme is supported by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Steve Rotheram, said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Agent Academy’s first virtual graduation alongside a host of industry leaders, to congratulate these fantastic young people on completing their programme against the most challenging of circumstances.

“This truly demonstrates the resilience of the digital, creative and tech sector, and gives us a taste of what these graduates are capable of achieving. They should all feel incredibly proud, I know they have bright futures ahead of them.

“These are clearly the most difficult of times and ensuring that people have the right skills will be more important than ever as we rebuild our economy. By investing in skills programmes such as Agent Academy, that have already supported so many young people into a thriving industry, we are leading the way as a city region on the skills agenda and future-proofing our industries.”

Holly Hall, said:

“A huge congratulations to everyone who has graduated. I’m really excited to celebrate with you. Working in digital is all about being agile, adaptive and finding new and creative solutions so by just getting to this point this cohort have already demonstrated they have the skills required.

“The industry is going through a challenging time right now, but, as I’m sure you’ve all witnessed, out of those challenges comes innovation, renewed purpose and unflinching resolve. With Agent Academy’s industry designed programme, these graduates are in a fantastic place to join that momentum and help drive the industry forward.”

Paul Corcoran, said:

“This is what Agent Academy is all about, giving young people the chance to kick-start their career in digital and overcome real-life challenges via the means of technology and creative thinking.

“This cohort has faced a particularly difficult challenge, but they’ve adapted excellently to the situation and against the odds have produced a high-quality piece of work for a real-life client.

“We are extremely proud of this group of talented young people who are now ready to kick-start their careers in the digital, creative and tech sector, in the Liverpool City Region.”
