At the end of 2024, a new bar in Chester had finally opened it’s doors to customers!
The Flat Earth Bar on Newgate Street, is another fantastic addition to Chester’s food and drink scene. The bar’s interesting theme is inspired by flat earth conspiracy theories and the unexplained with décor covering everything from the Yeti to lake monsters and faked moon landings!
This quirky new bar occupies the former Plumbers Arms which closed back in 2020. Deceptively large, the bar extends all the way back to the city walls including two outdoor seating areas. With a cosy atmosphere, large bar and comfortable seating, this bar is a must see for all visiting Chester.
The Flat Earth bar is open, 12 -12 daily, with drinks and snacks available everyday. And don’t forget to visit on ‘Fondue Wednesday’s’!
Alongside this, the Flat Earth Bar’s sister bar, PlanaTerra, has now only recently opened it’s doors on Northgate Street, Chester!
With a similar ‘interesting’ theme as it’s sister, PlanaTerra is to be a new ground floor wine bar and coffee shop, selling artisanal food and drink.
Set in the old ‘Co-operative Bank’ building on Northgate Street, this stylish new bar has a mixture of low and high seating, made from repurposed antique cabinetry, outside coffee tables and a small stage for acoustic performances.
The Flat Earth Bar and PlanaTerra are definately two new food and drinks spots that are not ones to be missed!
