Learn about contemporary policing and prepare yourself for a career in the police or related professions with the new Police Studies with our Criminal Investigation degree programme launching in September 2020 at University Courses Burnley (UCB).
With policing changing rapidly, the Honours degree programme offered by UCB will prepare graduates for a wide variety of police and non-police officer opportunities, including professions in the Prison Service, private security, and those within the criminal justice system.
Emma Hurst, Dean of UCB said:
“Our Policing with Criminal Investigation degree will look at operational policing, the use of firearms, miscarriages of justice and major crime investigations. It will appeal to those with a strong sense of duty and what is right and wrong as they study the challenges facing policing today, explore current reform and look at the importance of accountability.”
The brand-new course is an addition to a growing portfolio of degree level study programmes that UCB has to offer its students.
“Our degree programmes at UCB are industry-focussed and offer undergraduates of all ages the opportunity to break the mould and do something different. Police Studies with Criminal Investigation offers an ideal progression for anyone with a qualification in Public Services or for those seeking to return to education or looking for a change in career.”
As a UCB undergraduate you will learn relevant industry skills as well as being taught by industry experts within our£100 million Campus in Burnley, which is within easy reach of transport links and offers free ample parking.
Added Emma:
“This is an exciting programme that we are excited to be starting from September, and we are still accepting applications to be amongst the first to start this exciting course. In these unprecedented times UCB is defining the ‘new normal. We are finding that many students are opting to study closer to home so our wide range of innovative UCB courses gives them the option of remaining in Burnley.”
