Napthens’ teams praised by Legal 500 guide

Regional law firm Napthens which has offices across Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside has been singled out for praise in the latest edition of the industry ‘bible’ Legal 500.

The Legal 500 guide is based on a review of client work over the past year including a survey of clients’ experiences of legal firms across the country, with Napthens’ clients praising the firm for its ‘no-nonsense approach and clear and direct advice.’

The Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Property, Commercial Litigation and Rural teams are all ranked in the top tier for their areas in the guide, with the firm’s Licensing team one of only a handful ranked in the north-west.

Among the teams, head of Corporate Keith Melling and head of Liverpool office, Gareth McIntegart have been singled out for praise as Legal 500 Leading Individuals, with their colleague David Carr, senior associate solicitor, highlighted as a Rising Star for the quality of his work. Head of Commercial Jon Esner was also cited in the rankings with clients praising him for his ‘timely and helpful’ advice.

Commercial Litigation partner John Whittingslow, is highlighted as Leading Individual and described as ‘incredibly experienced and knowledgeable.’ Andrew Holden, senior associate solicitor, was recognised as a Rising Star for the second year running, and department head David Bailey cited for his work in a team which was praised as ‘the envy of many city firms’.

Head of Rural Andrew Holden is acknowledged as a Leading Individual in the Rural category alongside Rising Star James Stocker as the team, including Melissa Haigh and Diane France were cited as ‘always willing to help and go the extra mile.’

Amongst the firm’s Commercial Property team, Jamie Allison, Martin Beardsworth, Paul Hardy, Kate Mallaband, Tony Coates and David Hill were all recognised as a ‘Tier 1’ ranked team for ‘extremely thorough, efficient and technically competent service.’

Malcolm Ireland, head of Leisure & Licensing, has been highlighted as a Leading Individual in his field, with clients praising Malcolm for being ‘exceptional in his role.’
