Avalere Health, a consultancy specialising in healthcare strategy and data analytics, has announced its expansion into Manchester’s city centre with the establishment of its new headquarters at No.1 Circle Square. This strategic move underscores Avalere’s growth as a business and marks its entry into Bruntwood SciTech’s vibrant Circle Square neighbourhood, known for fostering innovation and collaboration among a diverse community of businesses.
Bruntwood SciTech – a joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General and Greater Manchester Pension Fund – is the UK’s largest property platform dedicated to growing the nation’s innovation economy, attracting leading businesses to its state-of-the-art workspaces.
As a long term Bruntwood customer in Cheshire, Avalere Health will expand and establish its new nearly 6,000 sq ft headquarters at No.1 Circle Square, underscoring the strength of Bruntwood SciTech’s workspace proposition, including its wellbeing and amenity offer and access to a broad range of business support. It also reinforces Circle Square’s status as Manchester’s premier destination for innovation, placing Avalere among notable industry leaders such as HPE, Mills & Reeve and Roku, as well as growing disruptors and enablers such as BlueSkeye AI and Oyster Ventures.
While its new bespoke headquarters were being developed, Avalere Health operated from a temporary office space at Circle Square. This ‘soft landing pad’ allowed the company to begin recruiting local talent as it established its base in the city centre.
Avalere Health’s move to Circle Square highlights its commitment to advancing healthcare innovation through data-driven solutions for improved patient care and delivery. By joining Bruntwood SciTech’s Circle Square location, Avalere Health gains proximity to top talent and research capabilities at The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, while also connecting with leading healthcare organisations, such as Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, access to Bruntwood SciTech’s wider healthcare-focused community at Manchester Science Park and Citylabs campuses further supports Avalere’s growth within Manchester’s dynamic knowledge quarter ecosystem.
Circle Square, one of Manchester’s largest and most dynamic neighbourhoods, is home to a diverse mix of global tech companies and innovative start-ups across key sectors, including the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, blockchain, and augmented and virtual reality. With Bruntwood SciTech offering not only funding and financial support but also a collaborative ecosystem, companies such as Avalere Health are well-positioned to thrive in an environment designed for growth and partnership.
Featuring four cutting-edge office buildings, including Manchester Technology Centre, Circle Square is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of Manchester’s innovation landscape, providing flexible workspaces, meeting rooms, and event space designed to foster collaboration and growth. The recent topping out of the £87m 267,000 sq ft No.3 Circle Square, which is due to complete in April 2025, marks a significant milestone in this development, showcasing Bruntwood SciTech’s commitment to providing world-class workspace demanded by innovation-led companies.
Beyond its workspace, Circle Square is a lively neighbourhood filled with restaurants, bars, and leisure facilities, all surrounding the scenic Symphony Park—one of the largest green spaces in the heart of the city. As the area continues to grow, new operators like Onda Pasta Bar, The Tap House, Jetts Gym, and Detroit Slims—an exciting concept from the creators of Ramona, Diecast, and The Firehouse—have joined the community. This blend of innovative workspaces and vibrant social venues creates an engaging place for people to work, socialise, unwind and explore.
Josh Whiteley, commercial director for Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Avalere Health’s move to Circle Square is a great reflection of their commitment to driving innovation and growth. Circle Square is designed to support ambitious businesses like Avalere, offering them access to a fast-growing tech community and the collaborative environment they need to succeed. Being part of our ecosystem means they’ll benefit from proximity to industry leaders and the wealth of talent and expertise within Manchester’s tech, healthcare and digital sectors.”
Nick Holmes, vice-president of Employee Experience, Avalere Health, said: “Our new home at Circle Square is perfectly positioned as we continue to look to grow our talent base in Manchester, the space is wonderful and will be a big asset for our employee value proposition moving forward”.
Businesses at Circle Square will also be connected into Bruntwood SciTech’s large citywide ecosystem in Manchester spanning 4 campuses and 21 city centre innovation hubs, including those based at the newly opened Sister, Manchester Science Park, Citylabs, Bloc, Bond, and 111 Piccadilly, as part of the business’ UK-wide community of 1,100 start-ups, scale-ups and global businesses.

In the past 12 months Bruntwood SciTech has invested over £314m in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool, bringing 1.45 million sq ft of workspace to market for innovation-led businesses.
