Downtown in Business are delighted to announce they will again be working with The R&A on The 154th Open taking place in July 2026 at Royal Birkdale.
Once again, the worlds best golfers will descend into Liverpool City Region to battle it out for the coveted Claret Jug.
The 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in England generated over £187 million in economic benefit for the Liverpool City Region. This was a significant boost to the local economy, and it expected 2026 will see a further increase benefitting a wide range of sectors and businesses.
Downtown MD, Chris McKenna said “We are delighted that The Open is returning to the region, and it is great to be working with the team again to support on this world class sporting event right on our doorstep. The event is watched by millions across the globe and is huge for the city and wider city region.”
